My connection to childcare began early. When I was five
years old, my mom opened a home-based program while raising us as a single
parent. That experience shaped how I view children, families, and the
importance of nurturing learning environments. As her program grew into a larger
center, I worked in many roles and earned my associate’s degree in Early Childhood
Education in 2004.
After moving to Arizona, I returned to the classroom as a
director and preschool teacher and later opened my own home-based program,
Seedlings Nursery School, so I could stay home with my children. Seedlings
remained in operation for 7 years. During those years, I continued my
education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and later a
master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
For 8 years, I have worked for the United Way of Pinal
County Family, Friend, and Neighbor Program. I support family childcare providers and
caregivers through training, coaching, and constant support. I also present at local,
state and national early childhood conferences, sharing best practices in
play-based learning and child development.
As a parent myself, I understand how deeply personal the
decision to choose a learning environment can be. My goal is always to create a
space where families feel safe, respected, and supported.
The Wonder Workshop Learning Collective reflects both my
professional experience and my values as a parent: honoring childhood,
protecting curiosity, and trusting children as confident, capable learners.
